The Place
Part of the chic boutique W New York Hotel, this off-beat Rande
Gerber hotspot draws a flash Sex and the City crowd to its large,
plush lounges where classy cocktails are delivered by delectable
waitresses in black leather and thigh-high boots. Naturally
the Manhattan, so beloved of Carrie and co, is the drink of
choice but their extensive cocktail list offers plenty to please
all of you style-guru's in town. We're not so sure about the
bar's name though. It might have been the whiskey but the ceiling
seemed more purple than blue and the general level of bonhomie
among the Wall Street execs was far from depression. Then again,
you could end up feeling blue at all the talk of stocks and
shares in here. If so, there are always the colorful mosaics
of the no-smoking Oasis bar in the lobby nearby.
