The Place
Past the velvet ropes, bouncers and the exclusive "we're-so-cool" attitude at the door, a charming, stylish space brings some downtown hip to workaday Murray Hill. The high domed ceiling (painted with a sepia-toned Old World map), backlit walls and delicately melting candles that wind up the balcony stairs provide a dramatic backdrop for a youngish, eager-to-party crowd.

The Draw

There's more to the club than its ambience. DJs
spin quality house music that's good for dancing--
and not too loud for mingling. And the friendly
bartenders whip up pricey concoctions such as a
luscious peach martini or a crisp, heady champagne
cocktail made with coconut, mango or passion fruit
juice. Tan couches are crammed with comfy-looking
pillows but hardly any people, since getting a table
requires a two-bottle minimum.
