The Place
Founded by French ex-pat Fabien Azoulay, previously of the boys-only
spa Nickel, Broadway sits on a quiet side street just off Madison
Square Park. The bright, airy first floor includes the reception
and waiting lounge, mani/pedi area, hair styling stations and
four comfy treatment rooms; the latter are reserved mainly for
facials and body services. Up a curved staircase is the massage-only
mezzanine level, where five single rooms and one couple's suite--complete
with skylight and mirrored ceiling--open onto a balcony overlooking
the floor below. The understated "shabby chic" decor
and low-key staff help both male and female clients feel comfortable.

The Place
In addition to classics like massage, facials, and waxing, Broadway
keeps things new and fun with seasonal twists on standard treatments;
recent offerings have included the Bamboo Massage, which incorporates
oil-soaked bamboo rods into the rub-down, and "flavored"
facials using season-appropriate ingredients like basil or chocolate.
Pedicures manage to be both relaxing and thorough, and also
make use of fresh ingredients. Generous special packages--which
often offer two-hours worth of pampering for under $100--make
this a perfect spot for regular tune-ups.
