The Place The second floor of a sprawling mini-mall
may not seem like the ultimate nightlife destination, but there's
a sultry and funky dance club beyond that velvet rope and up the
private escalator. The main lounge area boasts an 18-wheeler-sized
bar with mirrored shelves and a DJ tower, and cushy red-velvet booths
with table service. All the hype is on the dance floor, where Valley-dwelling
youngsters shake it under pulsing lights to hip-hop, or groove to
live disco and rock. Bartenders keep busy whipping up pricey drinks
for rookie boozers, like green apple martinis or, for the smart
set, the signature chocolate-kiss martini.
The Draw
The pickup scene is as randy as a liquor-soaked frat party, but
the elegant decor and well-dressed crowd elevate the experience
