No longer the Valley's best-kept secret, the unpretentious neighborhood
vibe has been replaced by a velvet rope and guest list. Still, it's
a beautiful venue. As the moniker suggests, most everything at Clear
is transparent: Plexiglas stools, translucent front door and even
see-through business cards. Padded white-leather walls and benches
could have been lifted from the set of Jamiroquai's "Virtual
Insanity" video, while a stark outdoor patio radiates a retro-cool,
1950s Palm Springs vibe. A rotating cast of guest DJs mix it up
between cool jazz and thumping hip-hop, depending on the night.
A makeshift dance floor gathers momentum as the hour grows late.
Stylish 20- and 30-somethings from the
greater San Fernando Valley frequent this hot spot on the rise.
The club's increasing popularity attracts higher-caliber DJs and
