The Comedy & Magic Club has been around
since 1978, but given its location out in Hermosa Beach (a small
beach town in the South Bay, a good 15 miles southwest of Hollywood),
you might assume that the club would feature only minor comic talent
here.
Come see why so many Angelenos are willing to make the drive down
the coastline to this comedy venue. Local residents like to keep
tabs on the frequent appearances by the Tonight Show’s Jay
Leno who often appears here on Sunday nights to try out new material
for his show. The club has a wide range of performances, by comedians,
magicians, jugglers and mimes. Many regulars also drop in because
of the lively atmosphere and the friendly cocktail waitress service.
Comedians such as Rodney Dangerfield and Jim Carrey have performed
here during this club’s noteworthy 20-year history. You never
know when one of your favorites will drop in and perform unannounced.
The place offers a full menu and a full bar, for an extra charge,
also for a free parking on the roof and metered street parking are
available for the club's visitors.
The crowd is usually a bit older, though many younger people come
regularly as well. Two-drink minimum.
