The twisted gladiators of Comedy Sportz
use humor as a means for comedic battle. Here you'll find improve
games in an athletic format. Outfitted in adult league softball
attire, these improvisational competitors square off, utilizing
audience participation, sing a longs, music and assorted fouls.
The pacing is brisk, the laughs plentiful, and the lunacy unchecked.
Situated in the 99 seat Tamarind Theater, the festivities are easily
viewed from elevated seating. Low ceilings focus the audience's
attention on the split-level stage, a playing field backdrop, team
benches and Astroturf. The ringmaster is a zebra striped referee
who keeps the energy high and the humor clean. Anything in poor
taste (comedians or audience outburst) is greeted with the Brown
Bag of Shame to be worn over the head of the offender!
Located in a lesser-known, older Hollywood neighborhood, the theater
is surrounded by bars and restaurants, making this a perfect evening
out. Reservations are a must as is valet parking, but be patient.
The valet runner services many establishments and has his work cut
out for him! The room will fill to capacity. Get there early.
