Mixed Nuts Comedy opened its doors in January
of 1998 on Pico Blvd after a test run of Comedy showcase held at
the El Rey Theatre in December 1995. It was co-hosted by Dorothy
Lucey of Fox Good Day LA.
Mixed Nuts Comedy was founded by Mr. Benwikere to provide a venue
for African Americans and Latino Comics to work out and showcase
their talent. As L.A.'s only Multicultural Comedy club, Mixed Nuts
welcomes comics and audience from all ethnic backgrounds.
Mixed Nuts Comedy have hosted some of the biggest names in comedy
today such as Chris Tucker, Cedric "The Entertainer",
Robert Townsend, J. Anthony Brown, Steve Harvey, Reynaldo Rey, Michael
Collyar, Alex Thomas, Doug Williams, A.J. Jamal, Earthquake, Melanie
Camacho, Don Reed, Paul Mooney, Royale Watkins, Eddie Griffin, Mike
Epps, Lester Berrie, Sherri Shephard and many more.
This summer Mixed Nuts Comedy will add Jazz, Blues, Magic and R&B
to its entertainment package.
Due to expansion Mixed Nuts Comedy in Dec. 2001 relocated to 4000
W. Washington Blvd. for a bigger space, free ample parking, full
Bar and dining. Mixed Nuts Comedy thanks all its customers for continuous
