DJ Aldo Sanchez decided to become a DJ 1990. The kind of music he plays is Various House, Genre's from Soulful to Electro Minimal to Tribal. What influenced DJ Aldo Sanchez as he was growing up is basically the love for music at a very young age as well as dancing and competing in dance competitions. As Time went on, he started to find an interest in making people dance as opposed to dancing himself. From then on, he spun freestyle in the 90's then leaving my turntables alone for some of 3 years in the late 90's then started back up strong with a fresh new sound early 2000.
As most of us know, the styles of music have changed drastically in the last 10 yrs; however, as a DJ, one has to evolve with the music, and more importantly, stay true to what one likes and not just to what people think is hot at the moment.
It is sometimes hard to decide to play; one would have audiences from different backgrounds and different tastes. Sometimes, audience would not respond to the music he play’s, but one has to take chances. What makes him unique and apart from others is reading the crowd well, and that’s more than anything else, has made him successful in this business. Track selection also plays a big part in what he does. DJ Aldo Sanchez believes that he is a trendsetter as his sets are really diverse with many genres, not just one specific one.
People respond to his playing style, and again, it’s all part of reading the crowd, knowing how to build your set, etc. DJ Aldo Sanchez usually play’s what he feels is good music, and if the audience doesn’t respond to it early, he would do his best to create a vibe by the time he is done.
There are many qualities that make a good DJ and those include but not limited to reading the Crowd, track selection, and of-course technical skills behind the decks . It is important to consider playing what the crowds want and not just being a trendsetter, so there needs to be a medium to both.
It is hard to satisfy all people even in the same crowd, so in order to make his DJ business successful; he has to take some requests from people. However, DJ Aldo Sanchez usually prepares materials and if few people respond to his style, he can always ask the people what they want and even this requires preparation. He feels interaction with people is very important as that’s what creates your fan base. It is also part of the music business to learn a great deal about human behavior.
DJ Aldo Sanchez think DJs will shape the future of music in a way which they play a big part in what people never hear, and we bring that fresh new sound that they want to their ears, which in turn changes the club scene.
