One would ask why is it that one generation’s feeling for the music of the next generation lacks tolerance. Again, this goes back to evolving with the music, and also if you really love music you should learn to appreciate all forms of it. DJ Aldo Sanchez would say that the high tech industry is responsible for the lack of feeling in music today and also express that feeling through different patterns and beats and more repetition, but again this all goes back to the statement of each persons taste.
DJ Aldo Sanchez believes, as a good DJ and a versed one, you can make any crowd move as long as you know what you are playing, and do some homework on the place and its prior DJs ,styles etc.. DJ Aldo Sanchez also thinks location has a huge part to do on the type of music that people respond to. All locations have a sound they have been, DJ Aldo Sanchez guesses that you can say, trained to like or respond to. For example, New York has its own sound as does London. Again, it’s all really comes down to people’s taste.
Music has changed compared to the year that DJ Aldo Sanchez started. It’s changed so much but he still loves it the same! DJ Aldo Sanchez thinks that music is going to be very electronic with some tribal elements in the next 5 years. During the 60’s, the music was far different than it is today. There seemed to be more melodies and less back beat techno music where the lyrics reflected that generation’s fight for causes. He believes music has its own meaning to our generation now and although the subjects are not the same they still have their own meaning to each person on different levels for each and everyone. He remembers hearing a DJ on the radio describing Beatle George Harrison’s take on the music of this generation. He said, “When he listened to the top 40, by the time he got to number one, I wanted to kill somebody!” Apparently, his complaint was the back beat was similar and there was a real lack of variety in the songs.
