The almost buzz cut

A variation on the buzz cut that was so popular last year, this easy to maintain, no-frills cut requires only a quick visit to your barber. At home, rub a minute amount of styling product through your hair, concentrating on the top or give it a quick spritz with some hairspray. Next, take a very fine-toothed comb and brush the hair on the center of your head slightly up, while ensuring the hair on the side of your head remains smooth. Bonus: if you have a receding hair line, this cut will make it appear less obvious.
Face shape: Triangular
What it says about you: You know exactly what you want and you’re not afraid to go out and get it. You’re confident, cool and collected and you won’t crack under pressure. |

Short layers and coppery highlights

This clean cut is the perfect foil for the man who’s up to no good. Choose your preferred side for parting your hair, then have your barber or stylist trim your hair in short layers. To achieve the good-boy look, comb a dime-size amount of gel or an even smaller amount of styling wax through both sides of your part, paying special attention to the longer pieces in the front. For Brad’s rebellious take on a preppy classic, choose blond or coppery highlights a couple of shades lighter than your normal hair color. Accessorize with an Angelina Jolie look-alike and a cheeky grin, and your transformation to undercover devil is complete.

Tousled waves

Perfect for guys with naturally wavy hair, all you have to do to cop
this look is ask your barber to trim the ends of your hair. Be careful, though: If you cut too much off, you’ll have to wait for your hair to grow out before you’ll be able to copy this style. Assuming all goes well at the salon, use a wave-enhancing shampoo at home to really emphasize your hair’s natural tendencies, then tousle your dried hair with some curl-creating gel. As a final touch, dab a minute amount of hair wax on a few carefully selected pieces of hair to get them to stand out and achieve a “piecey” look.
